Why do I
need a Consultation?
The initial
visit is very important. This is when you first meet Dr. Kiesselbach
and our friendly staff. This is your opportunity to get all of
your questions answered and thoroughly understand what will happen
on the day of your surgery. The doctor will do a brief medical
evaluation that is appropriate for your surgery. It's at this
visit that we can determine the cost for the work you need to
have done and we can work out any financial arrangements.
Will it
hurt?
Dr. Kiesselbach
is committed to patient comfort. He makes a promise to each patient
that they will not feel any discomfort during the surgery. Patients
are routinely impressed with his technique. He is particularly
great with children. He has a way of making the parents feel very
comfortable with how their child will be treated, and children
are always happy to see him at the follow up visit.
Can I use
insurance?
At least
partial reimbursement for oral surgery is often available through
various dental insurance benefit plans. However, the surgery fee
is your responsibility, regardless of how much your insurance
covers. Before surgery, read your dental and / or medical insurance
policy or check with your insurance representative concerning
your coverage. Our office has its own financial policies, so be
sure to discuss payment arrangements prior to your surgery appointment
and make sure parties fully understand these arrangements. We
will be happy to process your insurance for you. This can all
be discussed at the consultation appointment.
Which anesthetic
will I need?
Choosing
the anesthetic that is right for you will be decided jointly by
you and Dr. Kiesselbach. The decision is based on your needs with
regard to physical comfort as well as emotional comfort. Dr. Kiesselbach
is highly trained and experienced in all types of anesthesia including
general anesthesia, comfort sedation, nitrous oxide and local
anesthesia.
Regarding Implants:
- Will I be without Teeth?
Unless extensive grafting is necessary, you will never be without cosmetically acceptable teeth. Some patients may need to keep their dentures out for the first week or two following implant placement. Other options are available and need to be discussed with your restorative dentist.
The point is, there are many possible solutions to a problem. We want to help you achieve the best result possible.
- What are the benefits?
Eat whatever you like: Implants improve your health with the ability to chew a wider variety of foods.
Smile with confidence: Ugly or missing teeth detracts from your appearance. Implant supported restorations can help increase your self-esteem.
Express yourself: Implants increase the retention and stability of your restorations. They preserve your facial structure and decrease the likelihood of loss of jaw structure.
Improve or correct speech problems: Implants stop movement of partial or full dentures that cause most speech difficulties.
Food tastes better: Patients have told us that their food actually tastes better after having implants.
